Premiere: Plastic Mermaids – ‘Alaska’

Exuberant indie pop from the Isle of Wight...

Plastic Mermaids hail from the Isle of Wight, but largely reside in their own world.

Exuberant indie pop with an off kilter feel, their home-grown experiments recall The Beta Band's early lysergic cuts, or even Clinic's more melodic side.

Working on a trilogy of EPs, the series is set to close with the release of 'Everything Is Yellow And Yellow Is My Least Favourite Colour'.

New cut 'Alaska' leads the way, and it's a perfectly formed piece of jagged alt pop.

The softly sweet melodies interlace with a complex rhythmic chassis, a continually evolving piece of glimmery, oddly psychedelic pop music.
