Paris-dwelling folk-pop singer Mina Tindle saw beaucoup acclaim come her way for 2012's debut LP, 'Taranta'. Now, she's back with a new album, titled 'Parades', due for release later in 2014. And from said set comes this delightful number, also called 'Taranta'. Confused? Don't be. Remember Gomez doing the same sort of thing in the 1990s? Of course you do.
Clash is pleased to premiere the video to 'Taranta' right here. It's a splendid indication of the accomplished songwriting that courses through 'Parades', very much a more focused, yet somewhat freer offering than the singer's previous LP. Alongside Tindle on a couple of tracks, including 'Taranta', is The National's Bryce Dessner, who also produces here. The two go back some way - Tindle performed on the Brooklyn-based band's 'Boxer' album of 2007, and they've shared several stages since. Indeed, she plays with the band tonight (July 10th), at Edinburgh's Usher Hall.
Watch, listen, enjoy. 'Parades' (coming via Believe Recordings) is a bit good, so keep them open for that, later down the line.
