Martin Rossiter was always that bit different, that bit at odds with his peers.
Constructing powerful, literate odes during the laddish peak of Britpop, the songwriter waited almost a decade to construct his debut solo album. Yet, when it came, 'The Defenestration of St Martin' was an utter triumph - both in concept and execution, in terms of lyrics and arrangement.
One of 2012's sleeper hits, 'The Defenestration of St Martin' seems to find more fans with each passing day. Martin Rossiter's cause is set to be helped with the release of new single 'No One Left To Blame', which is one of the more straight forwardly heartbreaking moments on the recent album.
Out on September 16th, the single comes equipped with a number of remixes. Ahead of this, though, Clash are pleased as punch to be able to help premiere the brand new video for 'No One Left To Blame'.
Shot in conjunction with Brighton-based independent film company Novi Films, the clip seemingly uses an idea Rossiter first concocted 15 years ago. Walking into a freezer, the songwriter subjected himself to extreme cold before completing the shoot in one take.
Shaken, shivering and trembling Martin Rossiter stares straight at the camera for an intense, engaging video which as simple as it is engrossing.
Watch it now.
