James were formed before Britpop, before Acid House, before baggy.
Essentially emerging from the post-punk milieu, the band's career has seen off tides, trends. Returning with new album 'La Petite Mort' the Manchester group seem content to do their own thing, to ignore surroundings and do what feels right.
Out on June 2nd, James are set to unveil material from 'La Petite Mort' at a one off London show. Held in the relatively intimate confines of Camden's Electric Ballroom venue, the band will mix brand new songs with pearls from their lengthy back catalogue.
Taking place on May 28th, tickets went on sale last week and fans rushing to pick up their pass.
As a bonus for fans, James have handed a new performance clip to Clash. 'Frozen Britain' is one of the true highlights from their forthcoming album, a track which fuses a subtle view of a relationship with modern politics - hell, there's even a section sung in French.
Multi-faceted songwriting, this stripped down, pared back version of 'Frozen Britain' reaches back to the bare bones of James' songwriting before building it back up into something quite distinct.
Watch it now.
