Bristol newcomers prepare debut album...

New groups often lack a certain work ethic.

The novelty of lengthy spells on the road quickly wear off, leaving two sets of bands: the dedicated and those who split up.

Flights definitely have a sense of dedication. The Bristol group spent the whole of last year focussing on their music, splitting their time between lung-bursting spells on the road and intensive writing sessions.

Now they're ready to unveil their debut album. 'History Be Kind' will be released on October 6th via Scylla Records, but ahead of this Clash can unveil something special.

'The Ghost Of Things' appears on the band's forthcoming full length, a sweeping, soaring piece of songcraft. Blessed with an ambition sometimes rare in new groups, their epic side is matched to an intricacy borrowed from math rock or post-hardcore.

Emotionally engrossing, you can check out the performance clip for 'The Ghost Of Things' on Clash now.
