Premiere: Evening Hymns - Arrows

Canadian group travel to the UK...

Canadian music is in the middle of a golden age.

The northern nation seems able to conjure new acts at will, with each one seeming to arrive with their own intoxicating identity. The Polaris Prize is essentially the Canadian equivalent of the Mercury Music Prize, a chance for outsiders to view a cross section of breaking music from that country.

This year's list contains some big hitters, but also some unexpected surprises. Evening Hymns are hugely respected in their native Canada, but the Jonas Bonnetta-led project are little known elsewhere.

Recent album 'Spectral Dusk' won overwhelming critical acclaim, and was rightly placed on the longlist for this year's Polaris Prize. The grand unveiling is some way off, but ahead of this Evening Hymns are set to travel to the UK for a rare batch of live shows.

To coincide with this, Evening Hymns have unveiled the video for 'Arrows'. Americana with shades of noir, 'Arrows' comes backed with a video in which the central figure is blindfolded and told to journey across the Canadian countryside.

Eerie if beautifully shot, the clip ends with a twist in the tale as a hooded figure looks on.

Watch it now.
