It's gets cold in Montreal - damn cold.
So when Marie Davidson and Pierre Guerineau lost the lease on their home / rehearsal space in the middle of winter, they feared the worst.
Quickly moving into a desolate industrial zone, the pair began blasting out proto-techno and cold wave jams to stave off the freezing temperatures.
Essaie Pas was born during this winter. Frozen electronics, barbed synths, drum machines that appear to splinter at the slightest touch - it's a Ballardian soundscape, one that recalls Cabaret Voltaire, or even Factory Floor.
'Lights Out' is a taut, dramatic, crystalline piece of electronics, and it comes back with some deliriously brutalised visuals. All glaring colour and disintegrating VHS, you can tune in below.
