Erased Tapes is less of a standard record label, and more of a community which happens to release new music.
The roster is deeply close knit, with Robert Raths encouraging the artists on Erased Tapes to communicate, to swap ideas and spark off fresh projects. So when the imprint signs a new artist, it tends to be someone who is open to different influences.
Douglas Dare recently joined Erased Tapes, and - given his delicate approach to composition, his beautifully sketched introversion - he seems to be fitting right in.
New EP 'Seven Hours' is set to be released on September 30th, with lead cut 'Lungful' already finding its way online. Buoyed by a looping, hypnotic cascade of piano notes, the track itself apparently began life as a poem before Douglas Dare pushed his thoughts into the musical realm.
Filmed and edited by Dusan Kacan, the video for 'Lungful' plays on the cyclical, circular nature of the track itself. Shot in black and white, it's both stark and deeply beautiful with music and visuals combining to dramatic effect.
