Premiere: Demons Of Ruby Mae – ‘Beneath The Surface’

Quietly powerful fare…

Something new, and just a little blue, too: Demons Of Ruby Mae make the kind of music to turn any smile just a little straighter. Which is not to say that ‘Beneath The Surface’, their new cut that Clash is premiering here, is a downer – but it doesn’t half get a man there.

The black-and-white video fits the mood of the music perfectly – we might be still in the last days of summer, but this is a winter’s accompaniment to a grey morning crunch’s through thick-laid snow.

The Manchester-based pair of Jonny Gavin and Adam Rowley have a lot of promise, that much is clear, so perhaps they’ll be facing ever brighter prospects on the other side of this winter. A debut EP is forthcoming, so if this appeals, you know what to do. Keep up to speed with the band via Facebook, or go and see them, tonight, at London’s Old Blue Last.
