Partly Glasgow, partly London. Partly Fife, partly Bordeaux.
Babe have many homes, but only really come to life in the studio. Swapping ideas, riffs, lyrics via email, the band gradually built up their debut album 'Volery Flighty' over the period of weeks, months.
It's a work of rare imagination. Fusing the avant synth-pop of Japan with math rock inclinations, left field classical arrangements and more, 'Volery Flighty' was an imposing introduction.
Since then, Babe have played a handful of electric shows with the summer set to bring yet more activity. New single 'Tilt' is out now, with director Andrej Vasilenko taking charge of the video.
An enticing, dream-like clip, the film maker explains: "the video is about daydreaming guy. It's an ironic, pretentious mix of 'documentary' and staged scenes. It's about a guy who wants to push himself to do unusual things, but fails. Dog is his only friend."
"The actor is my friend, he's Lithuanian architect based in London. His name is Vilmantas Bavarskis and his dog Mishelis. The video is not a documentary about him, he is just an actor."
Watch it now.
