Sublime Swedish indie pop...
Lets Say We Did

The sweet with the sour, the rough with the smooth...

Pop music is built upon contradictions. Pasting a golden melody against a painfully honest lyric is one of the oldest tricks in the book, yet it's something which never really fails to tug at our heartstrings.

It's also something which Let's Say We Did excel at. Formed in Stockholm, the group match that world weary shoegaze sigh against some gently defined pop songwriting.

Releasing a string of EPs, the band have already gained a cult following far beyond their native Sweden. Of course, it helps that vocalist Sebastian Fors - he of the understated burr - also has a side project called Loose Cannon with Yuck's own Max Bloom...

New album 'Hello Creatures' should see them capture a wider audience. Let's Say We Did have already confirmed the release of their new single, with 'Goodbye!' set to be available from February 18th.

Tinged with psychedelia, 'Goodbye!' has a gently revolving chorus with synths which peel off to reveal a sugar sweet hook. Yet there's an inherent melancholy here, right from the title down to lyrics such as: “The earth is spinning in reverse, as things shift from bad to worse...”
