Grime is almost unique in its dogged devotion to geography.
A London sound, each crew, each collective is marked out by a postcode, each person desperate to rep their end of the city.
Kano goes back to his roots on new album 'Made In The Manor', with new cut 'Endz' placed online as a preview.
It's the sound of an older MC returning to the place that made him, warning: "Heavy is the head that wears the crown."
Further proof that grime can offer a much broader emotional template than simply anger or aggression, the subtle lyricism is matched to increasingly intricate production.
"Three cheers to the pensmith / The game's wide open, I'm dentist / Tryna find space, I'm Tetris / Not tryna lose faith…"

'Made In The Manor' will be released on March 4th.
