James Blake - Voyeur

Animated clip...

Emerging from soundsystem culture, the traditional album format has always say uneasily with James Blake.

The songwriter has peppered his discography with one off releases, often using the EP as a means to say something substantial. So with album #2 lingering on the horizon, it should come as no surprise to learn that James Blake is lining up a one off single to stand alongside the full length.

Out on 1-800 Dinosaur - co-founded with Dan Foat - a dub version of 'Voyeur' has already emerged online. Now an animated clip for the track has been made live, and it's twinkling beauty sits neatly beside Blake's own production style.

During a chat with Juno Plus, Foat explained that 'Voyeur' “came about through James developing an interest in house music at our Plastic People events”, and that the imprint's premise is “to release forward thinking music, based around the people already involved with the label or our friends”.

What better way to start than with a James Blake release eh? Watch 'Voyeur' now.

Oh, one last thing... during his Juno Plus interview Dan Foat lets slip that 1-800 Dinosaur have asked Kendrick Lamar to work with James Blake, but states that “it’s pure conjecture at the moment though, as everyone is too busy with touring commitments.”
