Historically a centre for visual arts, London university Goldsmiths is now at the centre of a thriving music scene.
Of course, it helps that South East is now the area of choice for young creatives in the capital, but the faculty's much-admired music department also deserves credit for the likes of James Blake, Jamie N Commons and more passing through the Goldsmiths door.
French For Cartridge are two professional composers who met whilst studying at the university. Real name Henri Vaxby and Catherine Kontz, the pair specialise in bizarre, offbeat pop music which nods towards their classical heritage.
Recently unveiling a number of live shows, French For Cartridge are set to perform at Stepney City Farm, Jamboree and Rough Trade West over the next few weeks.
To celebrate, French For Cartridge have posted new track 'The Puddle' online. Cerebral composition with an infectious quality, it comes equipped with a video which has been directed by Radiohead collaborator Ebba Erikzon.
