Sometimes it takes a fresh pair of eyes to see the solution.
Cold War Kids began work on their fourth album over a year ago, but progress seemed to be slow. In an attempt to shake things up the band enlisted a new guitar player - Dann Gallucci - and roped in Lars Stalfors on production.
The band were immediately energised, as Nathan Willet explains: “We were shaken up, ready to let certain songs go further than before by trying new styles and arrangements, while keeping others sparse and caring more about the finished product and less about how we got there".
The results are gathered on 'Dear Miss Lonelyhearts'. Set to be released on April 1st, Cold War Kids are teasing fans with a number of clips taken from the new album.
ClashMusic have been allowed to share the fourth such clip with you lot. It's a fascinating glimpse into a band in transition, into a group re-discovering what it means to function in the studio.
