Co-Pilgrim – A Fairer Sea

Cute animated video...

Mike Gale is one of those people who just can't help making music.

Getting up in the morning, he probably whistles an intro in the shower before polishing off his first song of the day whilst munching down some toast and reading the latest headlines.

Rightly lauded for his work with indie legends Black Nielson, the songwriter is now operating under the Co-Pilgrim name.

Essentially a solo vehicle, Co-Pilgrim is gearing up for the release of new album 'A Fairer Sea' on Battle Worldwide Recordings. The title track is already available as a single, having impressed on its release earlier this year.

Hinging on four tracks recorded with Belgian pals Sharko, the recording of 'A Fairer Sea' was overseen by one time Ride frontman Mark Gardener in his native Oxford.

Featuring wpnderful Beach Boys style harmonies and a shoegaze sheen, the album benefited from flourishes courtesy of Gardener himself and guest musicians Emma Maurice, Teuk Henri, Julien Paschal and Matt Cha.

ClashMusic have been handed the video for title cut 'A Fairer Sea'. A cute, animated clip featuring plenty of hand drawn charm is acts as a nice parallel to the humane, humble songcraft of Mike Gale.
