Timing is everything.
An Icelandic composer, everything Ólafur Arnalds puts his name to seems to unfurl with a rare sense of grace. Recently returning with a new album, the songwriter seemed to be of the mind that it was high time for a change.
'For Now I Am Winter' was released during an ungracious cold spell in the UK, and seemed to capture the mood of the ClashMusic office. Languid, at times melancholic, it also had bursts of pure euphoria with Ólafur Arnalds matching his orchestral background to flourishes of electronics.
New single 'Only The Winds' is out now, and perfectly encapsulates Ólafur Arnalds' mixture of the organic and the digital, the traditional and the groundbreaking. ClashMusic has obtained the video and it's something special - directed by Harald Haraldsson, it's a starkly shot clip which features a child trapped in a dream world which verges on becoming a nightmare.
Watch it now.
