A generation gap can be a powerful thing. The young are often too dumb, too beautiful to know any better, casually shunting past preconceptions and social barriers as if they weren't there.
Blaenavon are certainly young. Still in their teens, ClashMusic caught a recent London show and - if we're honest - we were about the oldest people in the audience. Sweaty, adolescent abandon crammed into a tiny Islington venue the band seemed to have the sound, the songs and the natural chemistry to become something quite special.
For now, though, all we have to go on is debut single 'Into The Night'. Released via Transgressive's cousin label paradYse it finds the band arriving remarkably well formed, with verse clicking into chorus with almost daring ease.
Packed full of the confidence and melancholy that only youth can provide, the video for 'Into The Night' features a young girl alone in a house, lost in her thoughts...
