Track Of The Day 20/3 – Hollie Cook

Twice

British reggae is a truly underground scene.

Shunned by the mainstream, it is nonetheless a vital, fluid, overwhelmingly creative aspect of life on these isles.

Hollie Cook is a case in point. The London artist's soulful, pop-tinged debut dropped in 2011, receiving widespread acclaim both from the tight-knit reggae community and further afield.

The entire album was versioned by Prince Fatty, sparking a renewed studio relationship between the two. Agreeing to oversee her new album, Hollie Cook spent the bulk of 2013 exploring possibilities with the producer.

Using a PledgeMusic campaign to enable fans to contribute to the studio process, Hollie Cook is now ready to unveil the results.

New LP 'Twice' drops on May 12th via Mr Bongo Records, but before then Clash has something very special. The title cut is a beautiful piece of sunshine reggae, with Hollie Cook gently adding a pop touch to Prince Fatty's system fare.

Tailor-made for the summer season, fans could float away on those tender strings…
