Track Of The Day 1/11 – Submotion Orchestra

Broken World

Seductive, that's Submotion Orchestra.

A coy glance here, followed by a whispered word… since 2009, the collective have specialised in subtle, supple electronics, something which gets under your skin and stays there.

With two studio albums already under their belt, a chance meeting with Flux Pavilion in London saw the group drawn into the orbit of Circus Records.

Signing with the label, work almost immediately commenced on fresh material, which will see the light of day later this month. '1968' EP finds the band returning to their soulful roots, with Submotion Orchestra melting together dub, hip hop, electronics and more.

Out on Monday (November 4th) Clash is extremely pleased to be able to showcase new track 'Broken World' online before anyone else. Opening with soft, tender synth bursts and Ruby Wood's sweet-like-chocolate vocals, 'Broken World' then falls into a beat which nods towards the deeper end of UK garage.
