Unofficial Morrissey Biopic Mooted

It's called 'Steven'

One of most iconic figures spawned by British indie music, Morrissey retains an enormous level of public fascination.

The publication of the singer's 'Autobiography' last year only served to re-ignite his cult following, dividing critics in the process.

Well, it seems that two American film makers are plotting a fresh biopic. Morrissey-solo have picked up on a report in The Hollywood Reporter, which states that director Mark Gill and producer Orian Williams are working on a biopic called 'Steven'.

Curiously, Williams also worked on the Joy Division biopic 'Control' so there may be something in this after all…

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the Morrissey biopic will focus on the singer's early years: "Growing up in bleak Manchester, England, and his triumph over an alienated childhood to become the cult star he is today."
