Rex The Dog are a duo, but only one member makes a musical contribution. The other, y'see, is a dog. Confused? You will be.
Jake Williams is the force which drives Rex The Dog. In love with the sound of vintage electronics, the producer has amassed an enormous selection of analogue synths over the past few years.
Developing a reputation for immaculate taste, Rex The Dog's Dalston residency BREED has becoming a touching stone for anyone with an interest in Future minded electro-pop.
Recently completing an Ibiza stint at Space, the producer is now ready to break out of his cult status. New single 'Do You Feel What I Feel' could be just the trick. An infectious ode to the pleasure of love, it nods towards the glowing style of New Romanticism but interprets these influences in a new way. Jamie McDermott is on hand to provide guest vocals, which hint at the roots of House music while having a cold delivery reminiscent of The Normal
The video manages to capture some of the track's aesthetic. Directed by and starring the hotly tipped Scottee, it features three blondes whose short, savage hair style is emblematic of the 80s. Yet their beauty, sexuality is subverted – the shoot is cold, almost robotic and by the end the three models are dripping in some sort of black goo.
Something which should be experienced rather than written about, you can watch the video for 'Do You Feel What I Feel' first on ClashMusic.
