Pulp Announce Massive British Tour For 2023; How To Get Tickets

Let's all meet up in the year 2023...

Pulp have announced plans for a massive UK tour.

The band have been teasing their return for some time – much-loved, the Sheffield group last performed live a decade ago, with frontman Jarvis Cocker focussing on solo activities and his JARV… IS project.

The group seemed to stir back into life recently. Probed about a potential re-union, Pulp drummer Nick Banks told fans to “stay calm, hug your Pulp records and dream of going mental sometime in 2023”.

And so it came to pass…

Pulp have announced plans for a massive UK tour in 2023. The dates include a headline Latitude set, alongside a headline spot at Glasgow’s mammoth TRNSMT Festival.

Two nights in Sheffield are on the books, alongside a huge London show at Finsbury Park.

“Three months ago, we asked, ‘What exactly do you do for an encore?’” Jarvis Cocker wrote in a statement. “Well… An encore happens when the crowd makes enough noise to bring the band back to the stage. So… We are playing in the UK and Ireland in 2023. Therefore… Come along and make some noise. See you there.”

Steve Mackey won’t be taking part, however. In a statement, he wished the band well, and reflected on his experiences remastering the Pulp catalogue.

“Pulp is a very important part of my creative life… and I’m exceptionally proud of the body of work we’ve created together,” he wrote. “There have been wide reports of a full reunion for UK concerts today. However I’ve decided to continue the work I’m engaged in – music, filmmaking and photography projects, and will not be joining  them for these UK  shows just announced.”

Steve Mackey finished: “Wishing  Candy, Nick, Mark and Jarvis the very best with forthcoming performances in the UK and also an enormous thanks to Pulp’s amazing fanbase, many of whom have sent me lovely messages today…”
