Photo Gallery: Gilligan Moss Hit Brighton

Exclusive snaps from the duo's Great Escape set...

Oh, we do like to be beside the seaside…

Or, at least, Gilligan Moss do. The New York based production duo breezed into the Great Escape last weekend, determined to live south coast life to the full.

Fish and chip shops were visited, novelty postcards were purchased and industrial amounts of Brighton rock were chomped upon – it was quite a trip.

Gilligan Moss also played a stunning set at the Clash stage, a packed show that demonstrated just how far they could take this thing.

Ben explains:

Great Escape was an instant classic – the fest was our first proper show in the UK outside of the EP release. We had missed our train from London and then purchased the wrong tickets so we got off to a shaky start (ended up sneaking off the train), but we made it in time for soundcheck. The Arch was well-suited for our set, it was cavernous and ippy drippy and made for a good dance party.

When we walked out of soundcheck we watched a poor old-timer get his food snatched up by a seagull which was entertaining and heartbreaking all at once. He was visibly shaken after the encounter, seagulls are mean 馃檨 Aside from the show, Brighton was fun to walk around, there were a lot of characters out 'n' about. Hit some classics too – fish, chips, brighton rock, all of that. We capped the night by drinking beers on the last train to london, it was lit.
