Mt. Wolf Conjure Beautiful Shapes On ‘Soteria’

New album 'Aetherlight' is out now...

Mt. Wolf recently returned with new album 'Aetherlight', a collection of predominantly instrumental works.

Patient, brooding compositions, each song seemed to build gradually, asserting itself with a gentle yet striking glow.

Out now, 'Aetherlight' was marked by a real ambition, with some of Mt. Wolf's work bordering on the output of post-rock groups such as Sigur Ros.

Heart-stopping album stand out 'Soteria' has now received the visual treatment, overseen by director James Ayling.

Ben Barnes (of HBO series Westworld, and a lot more besides) takes the starring role, and it follows a hallucinogenic Yorkshire bank robbery.

The director explains: "'In me are the bones of a better man than this' – I saw this quote somewhere and it made me think about the things we do as adults. We poison ourselves and do things we aren’t proud of in order to cope with how things have tuned out." "As I’ve got older, I’ve reflected on my life's path and how my aspirations and goals have changed from when I was a kid. I've often wondered what the 10 year old me would think of the man I have become."

"From this developed a story featuring a bank robbery in Yorkshire with guns, bikes, hallucinations, caravans and Ben Barnes… of course."

Watch it now.
