Merz is a man who splits him time between the Swiss Alps and the road. He’s an oxymoron of folk and that comes across on this album. It changes styles like socks. One minute a picked guitar ye olde number, the other some dark electronica, then some kind of industrial rumblings followed by something between A-Ha and Kings Of Convenience. It has moments of greatness, some bits even a bit Animal Collective, but as a whole it doesn’t gel into an album you can lost in.
