Jackson Ad Campaign

Singer takes over air waves

King of Pop Michael Jackson is set to unveil a massive TV ad campaign in support of his residency at the O2 Arena.

After years in the wilderness it now feels as though Michael Jackson has never been away. The media frenzy which greeted the announcement of his residency at the O2 continues unabated, and will only be heightened by the new ad campaign.

Jackson is due to play ten nights at the arena, beginning on July 8th. However, speculation is mounting that the singer will announce another block of ten performances to meet the incredible demand.

Fans have inundated the star’s website with over 1 million people thought to have applied for tickets. At one point Jackson’s website had over 10,000 hits per second.

To support the tour, titled ‘This Is It’, Jackson has bought a three minute prime time advert on ITV. Broadcast during ‘Dancing On Ice’ it is believed to have cost the singer in the region of £1 million.

In the press conference to announce the dates Michael Jackson hinted that these dates would be his last in the UK. The subsequent tour would become his final live shows and will take in cities around the world.

Heavily in debt, the singer recently sold off a number of personal possessions in a massive auction in Los Angeles. The superstar sold off everything from a limousine to the gates from his Neverland mansion.
