Flying Lotus Adds Three London Shows

Including a rare live show

Los Angeles producer Flying Lotus has confirmed details of three very different live shows.

One of the most respected producers on the planet, Flying Lotus recently returned with his latest slice of brain-mangling electronics. ‘Cosmogramma’ was a stunning release, bowling over critics with the breadth of its ambition.

DJ sets from the producer can be thin on the ground, although Flying Lotus did recently support Thom Yorke on his solo tour.

Now the bass colossus has confirmed details of three very different shows in just one week. First up, the legendary Brainfeeder club night returns to its spiritual home Hearn St Car Park and to celebrate Flying Lotus has been allowed to curate the line up.

Special guests have yet to be announced, but past Brainfeeder nights have included some of the biggest names in bass music.

Topped off with an appearance by the Los Angeles wizard himself, the Brainfeeder night should be a typical mix of rowdy behaviour and groundbreaking music.

Elsewhere, Flying Lotus is set to bring Infinity Live to London’s ICA venue. Infinity is a group of musicians drawn from those who contributed to ‘Cosmosgramma’ and include Ravi Coltrane, Miguel Atwood-Ferguson, Rebekah Raff and many more.

Finally, Flying Lotus is set to produce a live soundtrack to Harry Smith’s 1962 animated avant-garde film classic ‘Heaven & Earth Magic’ at Tate Modern’s Starr Auditorium. A legendary figure in the American arts, Smith was involved with the Beat writers and also compiled a seminal anthology of folk music from the United States.

Taking place on August 16th, the show will be a unique performance uniting Harry Smith’s unforgettable visuals with the music of Flying Lotus.

Flying Lotus has confirmed the following shows:

August
14 London Brainfeeder
16 London Tate Modern Starr Auditorium
18 London Institute Of Contemporary Arts (Infinity show)
