Buzzin’ Fly boss and house DJ Ben Watt has decided to sell off his enormous record collection.
Vinyl was previously the de facto format for DJing. However the rise of computer programs such as Ableton and Serato have undermined the need to place those chunky bits of wax on your turntable.
DJs across the country are making the switch from vinyl to mp3, with digital technology becoming more flexible than a bag full of 12 inches. Plus, lugging a computer around won’t shred your shoulder muscles.
Now Buzzin’ Fly boss Ben Watt is set to sell off his 10,000 strong collection. The label head was previously one half of Everything But The Girl until deciding that dance production was where his heart really lay.
Now a top house DJ, Ben Watt has been collecting vinyl for over 15 years. Bringing together house classics, lesser known cuts and rarities the collection is set to be sold off in batches of five.
Personally selected by Ben Watt, the purchaser will not know what they have received until it pops through their letter box. A listing on the Buzzin’ Fly website explains the project:
