Andre 3000 Arrested

Outkast rapper caught speeding

Grammy award winning star Andre 3000 has been arrested after he was caught driving at 109 mph on a highway in Atlanta.

One of hip hop’s most unique and inspiring figures, Andre 3000 has always tread his own path. In High School he played the violin, and his musical magpie vision injected a slice of the surreal into Outkast’s hip hop grind.

With the group on a seemingly never ending hiatus, Andre 3000 has been indulging his love of acting and fashion. The star has appeared in numerous Hollywood films, while his new clothing range ‘Benjamin Bixby’ launched last year inspired by college football in the mid 30s.

Andre 3000 is understood to be working on a solo rap album, although to date no material from the record has surfaced. He last appeared on John Legend’s album, working alongside the American soul star.

Real name Andrew Benjamin, the rapper was halted by police for driving at 109 mph in a 65 mph zone – that’s pretty damn fast. Associated Press reports that Benjamin was bailed on a $1200 bond and is due to appear in court on April 29th.

It is reported that the rapper told police he was driving at an excessive speed as he had missed a slipway and was attempting to turn around.

Outkast last released an album with the two times platinum ‘Idlewild’ record in 2006. Recent reports suggest that Andre 3000 and Big Boi and set to begin work on a new album soon.
