A Hard Day’s Night
One of the defining looks for Autumn Winter, plaid reeks of classic British heritage and the woody backwaters of America. It‚s part of the 21st century country squire style that sees lads looking primed to hunt, fish and shoot. While women’s wear has taken a sobering move towards the masculine with tailoring and oversized shapes taking form, both reveal a bosch brew of British country attire and American work-wear.
Vintage work-wear is an endless source of inspiration to casual wear labels such as Timberland, Dickies and Spiewak and European independents like Aem‚Kei, Rushmoor, YMC and Folk. Taking the classic finishings and details from utility wear, they utilize durable, functional fabrics like tough denim, knitwear and wax cotton, injecting traditional shapes with contemporary design twists. Following an aesthetic founded in the belief that clothing should not religiously chase fashion fads, instead they concentrate on making classic and quality gear.
