You Say Party! We Say Die!

Continuing the trend of exclamation mark overuse in band names (a practice surely perfected by !!!) Canadian five-piece You Say Party! We Say Die! state their case with a double A-side single of shouty, punk pop.

They have much in common with spiky Texan teens Be Your Own Pet though, and perhaps this is indicative of their countries of origin, YSP! sound less likely to slash your face open with a broken bottle. Nonetheless there is plenty of fight in Like I Give a Care with its “shut out the world” mantra, while some wavering keyboards give it a nice electro twist. The AA side Opportunity is a darker, new wave affair that’s decent but lacks the incendiary spark of its other half.
