Velofax:
As far as we’re aware, there’s yet to be an uprising of androgynous Channel Island bands with slick synths and a casual backbone of Krautrock.

But if such an occurrence were ever to occur, Velofax would be the sure-fire dons of Jersey. What with The Teenagers and their Gallic perv-pop currently gyrating upon Indie clubs the land over, Velofax’s debut probably couldn’t land at a better time. Yes, their moniker may sound more like a Print Firm than indie-pop band, but from opener ‘Plouf’, it’s straight into Gang Of Four guitars, John Hughes Soundtracking atmospherics and Nintendo beats. ‘Cent Mile’ sees them yelping in French over their moustaches (..of course they rock the ‘tache!) and closer ‘Jack’s Emporium’ does a mean line in good-time, limb-fluxing funk. Like The Rapture and Duran Duran fighting in a cheap leather bag store, where these songs will go from here is anyone’s guess, but we’re guessing to your nearest lo-fi indie disco dancefloor.
