Eight years in the making, but skirting through more rave-land adventures than this number could ever suggest, the Greco-Roman label has flailed its way into the canonical territory of a double-CD compilation.
And it’s slicker than the sum of its epic parts. Disc one collects greatest hits, from Joe Goddard’s smash ‘Gabriel’ to T.E.E.D.’s ‘Garden’, and into lesser-spotted sizzlers from Disclosure, Hackman and Vampire Weekend’s Baio.
Disc two unleashes remixes, scampering between underground classics like Four Tet’s rework of ‘Apple Bobbing’ to more emergent dance munitions.
Greco-Roman remains a seductive if nebulous proposition; a classic example of doing everything right via dashing delightfully down the wrong roads.
