Various Artists - Tru Thoughts: 10th Anniversary

With two hundred releases to its name, Brighton label Tru Thoughts marks its tenth anniversary by issuing this veritable compendium of thirty-two favourites spread across two discs with a bonus third disc boasting a further twelve tracks recorded exclusively for the occasion.

With disc one harbouring jazzy, soulful styles, Milez Benjaman, Natural Self and Bonobo are left to fly the electronic flag. Disc two, the strongest of the three, features Tru Thoughts on a funk tip and, as such, is filled with eminently danceable cuts.

As an introduction to the label, this is just about as solid as it gets.
