Hyperdub is 10. Aside from the fact that this obviously means Clash is bizarrely, horrifically old, it’s also a time for celebration.
Spread across two discs, ‘Hyperdub 10.1’ fuses the old with the new, the classic with the unexpected. The first CD represents the future, boasting exclusive cuts from the likes of Mala, DJ Spinn and Hyperdub boss Kode9 himself.
The second disc is laden with treasure from the label’s past, everything from Burial’s early Spaceape collaboration to Mark Pritchard’s wonky hip-hop salute ‘Wind It Up’.
Astonishingly diverse, the cumulative effect of ‘Hyperdub 10.1’ shatters any doubts over the label’s continuing vitality. Essential.
