This isn’t a new album from Glasgow’s The Twilight Sad, but a re-working of some of the songs that identified them as such an exciting prospect when they released their debut album, ‘Fourteen Autumns And Fifteen Winters’, last year.
The new versions are a bit more introspective and more ethereal, perhaps due to their lo-fi home studio authored origins, and I’m not sure they’ve improved on the originals from ‘Fourteen Autumns And Fifteen Winters’.
There are a couple of new tracks as well – a cover of Daniel Johnston’s ‘Some Things Last A Long Time’, and the title track itself. The good news is that these tunes show that *the band is still bursting with ideas*. So I guess it’s best to take their word for it and wait for the next album proper.
