The Lazarus Plot

Perhaps South London outfit The Lazarus Plot were anticipating the mid-May weather’s suddenly gloomy turn with their latest single.

Hardly a celebration of sunshine and happiness The Sun Shines Down is a song more suited to the twilight gloom. With its chiming guitar lines, acoustic rhythm and swooshing electronic beats it is as downbeat as indie gets though as you might expect from the title there is a ray of hope in its faintly uplifting piano. It’s like Elbow and Editors meeting over a pint of ale and a pie, but nothing to get out of your (death) bed for.
