"Storming stuff"

Recording your debut album live, in front of three hundred fans in a single take, is either an act of laudable madness or a display of cocksure certainty in your abilities.
For The Brute Chorus it makes perfect sense, capturing their feral blues-rock as nature intended it to be heard. Songs are thunderous and honest, and exude an unfettered, if ramshackle, passion; Chew Lips’ Tigs squares up to vocalist James Steel on the sexually-loaded fisticuffs of ‘The Cuckoo And The Stolen Heart’, while ‘Chateau’ has a raw simplicity, and a great tune, reminiscent of The White Stripes on top form.
Storming stuff.
