On the chorus of their second single The Brute Chorus provide a unique retort to the appeal “let it rain”.
“Let’s grow fins” is like the sardonic cry of wry wags watching Noah build his ark and a fine shout-a-long chorus in the traditional folk style. But this isn’t a fiddles and reels kind of folk. The song has buzzing guitars, cowbells and DiY percussion, while the narrator gazes down on the river Euphrates from the 16th storey of a tower block. Theirs is a very modern folk, connecting the music and stories tales of the past with the present.
