Sin Fang – Flowers

His most accessible, prettiest record to date

Among jangling bells, lush keys and playroom electronica, Sin Fang’s Sindri Már Sigfússon begins his third album with a “ooohaaaah” chanted chorus and the most straight-down-the-line pop chorus he’s ever attempted; “We were young boys / Smoking in the woods / I showed you how.” Having worked with Sigur Ros and Jonsi producer Alex Somers, his time round the sound is bigger, almost bombastic, yet retaining a whimsical, bright outlook. ‘Flowers’ is easily the Icelandic singer’s most accessible, prettiest record to date.
