Ry X – Dawn

Paeans of loss and heartache...

A thousand separate selves reside in each of us, vying for dominance. Ry Cuming has previously recorded work under the guise of the Acid and Howling but, as new album ‘Dawn’ aptly demonstrates, it’s his work under the Ry X moniker that channels his most fully realised form.

Over the course of these twelve tracks he crafts malaise and misery into something darkly majestic. This is most notable on ‘Sweat’ and ‘Berlin’, when his warped, cracked vocal – rippling between tenor and falsetto – transforms these paeans of loss and heartache into something just short of transcendent.
