A refreshing, life-affirming celebration
Radioclit: Secousee - African Dance Music Anthems

Does the Eurotrash/gabba-esque ‘Seria’ by Naty Kid only sound bonkers to Western ears, or would your average African dude find it pretty radio rental too? Just as the urban manz gave the swing and balls back to house, rendering the plodding, lumpy and anemic productions of yore redundant, these tracks get straight to the heart of rhythm. This may lose appeal on becoming too popular, but it shouldn't be seen as special interest or ‘world’ music, just a refreshing, life-affirming celebration. Although the relentless BPM does mean this requires the right time and place, in small doses.
