You get the impression that Prins Thomas, sobriquet of Norwegian DJ and producer Thomas Moen Hermansen, is a patient man. His pieces - artful, minimal takes on house and electro - gestate carefully, adding layer upon layer, before blossoming into fully-realised works incorporating elements of disco, krautrock, psychedelia and more. Even the ‘linking’ tracks, often three minutes or so of little more than intricate percussion rhythms, are rewarding and intriguing. What first seems impenetrable and maybe even pretentious reveals itself to be a rich and detailed tapestry, full of colour and emotion. It is true what they say after all; good things come to those who wait.
