‘Dancing’ is already the third LP from Wigan’s own Nancy Elizabeth, a swooning lullaby of a record from the veritable loins of Yorkshire’s much-admired Leaf Label.
If you’ve come across Elizabeth before you’ll find much to be familiar with: plaintive lyrics that play out over a chiming upright piano and a happy similarity with My Brightest Diamond in that fluttering vocal that makes a key all her own.
This is wonderful stuff, haunting neo-folk ballads of a gold standard with undulating saw synths punctuating throughout.
