Moiré – Shelter

A techno haven that tugs you out of your comfort zone…

A moiré – if you weren’t totally up to speed with your mathematical terminology – is a pattern overlay that, as a result, produces a secondary visual pattern.

Actress’s Werkdiscs is, as such, a fitting home for this enigmatic techno artist, who provides a shelter in his own auditory designs. What Darren Cunningham himself does is examine individual layers of techno, and Moiré is right behind him in this aspect.

One for the late, dark night, ‘Dali House’ emits a Galcher Lustwerk-like, esoteric vocal courtesy of Bones, while on ‘Stars’ a meandering synth worm skips in time with layers that shuffle in and out of each other.

‘Shelter’ is a haven that tugs you out of your comfort zone.
