A decade ago barely a week would go by without some band being hyped as the new saviours of pop, before quickly sinking into obscurity.

One of these was Bis, a Glasgow-based trio who bubblegum guitar pop somehow never found success. Well joy of joys, lead single Amanda MacKinnon, aka Manda Rin, is back with a brilliant slice of squelchy electro pop that sounds like The Ting Tings recording the soundtrack to a fitness video.

If Madonna had been less concerned with becoming a global pop phenomenon and played more video games instead, she could have made music this good.
