Not one for new listeners...
Love - Love Lost

Well, sort of. Of the 14 tracks here, only three really deserve the “lost” moniker, the rest having appeared in different forms on other Love records. Still, this is for all intents and purposes, the canned Dear You album, recorded for Columbia in 1971, and left mouldering in a vault since then.

If you’re expecting the strings and flamenco flourishes of Forever Changes, you’ll be disappointed. What we have here is (mostly) straight up blues-rock, frequently just Lee and his guitar. He’s never less than compelling, whether singing sweetly or balling his head off – usually in the same song.

Not one for new listeners, who may not see what all the fuss is about, but good stuff. Fans can bump the rating up by one.
