When Liam Howlett decided he didn’t need the other blokes in The Prodigy because self-indulgent dance music is better en seul, lanky dancer Leeroy Thornhill packed his long trousers and went off to become a DJ.
But far from merely trading on his fame it turns out Leeroy was learning how to make dance music fun again. This single has a decent electro break, some rollicking live drums, minimal fx and – as if to highlight how simple it all really is – a vocal sample saying “DJs fucking with the beat”. Just how The Prodigy used to do it.
