Kano – Method To The Madness

Reclaiming grime’s all-rounder crown

Much more of an even album from Kano – though someone should still have a word regarding his use of guitars, and what’s what the yawning drawl that keeps sneaking into the slick wordplay?

Proper grime, better suited outside ventures (smoking barrelled funker ‘Upside’) and hook-ups with Hot Chip and Boyz Noize that are more than a mutual backslap, create the real sound of East Ham recovered on ‘140 Grime St’.

And, while room for improvement remains, less culpable decisions are made compared to the pleased-to conform ‘London Town’. Kano’s well back on track to reclaiming grime’s all-rounder crown.

7/10
